Heavy going

It was a good Bearcat week. en again, if a team picks up four wins over a seven-day stretch, it should be considered a great one.

In those four games, ending with Friday’s 2-1 OT win over Edmundston, the Bearcats allowed just three goals against.

Under those conditions, you surely give yourself good chance for victory. e Bearcats scored 10, obviously enough to pull it o .

ey came into this week third in the Eastlink South Division, and fourth overall in the MHL.

ey also put some separation between themselves and those below them in the standings. is could come in handy later on.

e Bearcats knew exactly how they needed to play against the defending champion Edmundston Blizzard. It took some time for it to kick in.

It appeared the Bearcats questioned their ability to compete; however, a few good chances changed that. ey started to execute the game plan.

e Blizzard are a big, strong skilled team which plays with an edge. e Bearcat forecheck disrupted their game.

Truro’s ability to play a shutdown game while maintainin­g composure, for the most part, frustrated the visitors.

Truro didn’t mess around with the puck in their own end. When in doubt they banked it out. At the end of the day the win was a character win. ey didn’t stray and together looked after the little details. Bearcat wins are team wins.

is week is another busy one, starting last night at the RECC. Tonight the Bearcats are in Bridgewate­r to face the Lumberjack­s in the return match.

That team is a wrung below Truro in the standings, but many think they are ready to break out. ey’re dangerous.

Friday, the Amherst Ramblers will be at the RECC for a 7 p.m. game. ey blew the Bearcats out of the water last meeting.

The Bearcats look forward to this one and each one. ey play them one at a time.
