Bottled wine and spirits festival back in Truro

An evening that showcases Nova Scotia wines, ciders and spirits is coming up in Truro.

Bottled – Truro’s wine and spirits festival – is returning for its second year on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Those who attend will be able to sample products from some of the province’s favourite wineries, distilleries and cideries including Planters Ridge, Petite Riviere, Muwin Estate Winery, Raging Crow Distillery, Steinhart, Malagash Cidery, and Bulwark.

Onsite purchase will allow people to get some of their holiday shopping done. Live entertainment will be provided by Dean Murphy and Taylor Geldart, and food will be supplied by Nourish Bistro.

“There’s always an extra interactive component,” said Amanda Langille, of Langille & Colburne - More Than Events. “I can’t reveal information on the interactive part yet because I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but our theme this year is Northern Lights Holiday Glamping. This is a fun way to support Nova Scotia industry.”

The event is open to those age 19 or older. General admission tickets are $39 and include 10 samples, and a Bottled take-home glass.

VIP tickets are $44, and include access to a separate area, where groups can sit at designated tables and socialize in a more private atmosphere. VIP tickets can be purchased individually or by the table.

“We added the option to buy tables because a lot of small businesses could book them as part of their holiday staff celebrations,” said Langille.

Bottled runs from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Rath-eastlink Community Centre

From 10 to 11 p.m., those who purchase shuttle tickets, at $5 each, can take the Truro Nissan Shuttle to locations within the greater Truro area.

Tickets can be purchased at http://www.morethanevents.ca/
