Age 76 of Hilden, NS, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 in Elk Court, Brookfield. Born in Green Oaks, NS, he was the son of the late Leonard & Lydia (Burgess) Collins. Phillip came from a large family of talented musicians who enjoyed an old-fashioned kitchen party. He had many interests, but his favorite pastime was playing his fiddle and guitar. He will be fondly remembered as having a devilish smile and a twinkle in his eye. Phillip was a member of the local congregati­on of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is survived by his wife Margaret (King) Collins, children: Phillip Jr. (Rebecca) & family; Tara (Keith), Debert, Christina (Gary), North River; Jeffery (Kim), Debert; grandchild­ren, Brooklyn, Rylan, Corey, Riley, Danny, (Lindsay); great- granddaugh­ter Myla; Siblings: Marge (Donald), Ontario, Gary (Shirley), Green Oakes; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his siblings: Elmer, Clarence, Aileen, Jessie, and Edith. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of the Mattatall~varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation or funeral service by family request. A private family burial will take place at a later date in the Onslow Island Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Truro.
