DALRYMPLE Mildred “Millie” Pauline

Age 93, of Wynn Park, Truro passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Port Au Port Newfoundla­nd on September 30, 1925, Mildred was the daughter of the late Charles and Cecilia Hines, who died when Mildred was a baby. Mildred moved to Nova Scotia from Newfoundla­nd as a young woman and worked for many years as a Counselor at the Youth Training Centre in Bible Hill. Mildred was very proud to have worked with the children, and when speaking of her experience­s at the Centre, it would always put a smile on her face. Mildred had a heart of gold and will be missed by more friends than one could possibly imagine. Mildred is survived by her older sister, Gladys Macdonald, Newfoundla­nd; son Ivan (Francine) Marche, Cape Breton; grandson: Michael and many nieces and neph- ews. Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Arthur Dalrymple, brother, Clyde Hines; foster parents, James and Jessie Pike and foster brother, Russell Pike. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 22 at 10am at St. Paul’s Presbyteri­an Church, Lower Truro Road, Truro, Dr. Dave Sutherland officiatin­g. Interment at St. James Cemetery, Noel Road following the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mildred’s name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3H 1S6.
