WERRY Violet Mary “Vi”

85, Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2018, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Dot and Harry (Duncan) Houlbrook. Vi enjoyed volunteeri­ng her time in the community of Brookfield, playing cards and dedicated most of her free time to the church. In her earlier years she was an Officer with Spryfield YWCA in a wide range of volunteeri­ng roles. She worked in the retail industry for most of her career, including Klines, Lower Sackville Post Office and at an answering service. She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Jack, of 68 years; children, Sharon Fnukal (Joe), Jackie (Shelley), Kathy, Lisa (David); grandchild­ren, Jamie, Danielle, Natasha, Jason, Jack Jr., Taylor; great grandkids, Kyler, Tad, Nabryah, Emily, Georgia; brothers, David (Rachel), Gerry, Doug (Lorie), Bryon. Along with her parents, she was predecease­d by her sister, Joyce and brother, Reg. A special thank you to the thoughtful staff in Palliative Care Unit (CEHHC) and her amazing team of doctors. A celebratio­n of her life will be held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Knox United Church, 53 Highway 289, Brookfield. Private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vi’s memory to The Salvation Army - Truro Corps are welcomed. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
