Ready, steady and able

Every track has them and Truro is no exception – an extraordinary horse that is ready, steady and able, always showing up to play the game, giving his best, a fan-favourite or a handicapper’s go-to pick.

One of Truro Raceway’s such competitors is Electric Syl, owned by Ryder Matthews Rennison and his mom, Andrea Rennison.

The 10- year- old campaigner won out of the four spot last Sunday afternoon, covering the ground in 201 at over a weathercompromised track.

“Syl” has earned $67,941.00 in purse money, paced a career best of 156, taken over Red Shores Charlottetown as a six-year-old and has gone postward in 262 lifetime starts. Favorite treats – carrots or whatever his “people” are eating.

Favorite activities when not competing – being brushed - braided and “cuddled” by children and adults alike.

“Syl” also loves to romp and play outside in the paddock with his buddies.
