Playing three games in four nights is indeed a demanding task.

When the results aren’t what you hoped for, it’s made even tougher. It is what it is, and you move on.

In Pictou County last Thursday, the Bearcats were outworked. The team was not able to match the work ethic of the hometown Crushers.

A strong second period was not enough, especially when followed by a period hampered by the penalties.

Credit the victors for doing things necessary.

In Edmundston Saturday, the Bearcats played harder, but clearly not enough. They tried to force things but weren’t successful.

The Blizzards’ top players were their best players on the night, scoring in all three

periods, with no Bearcat response.

Sunday, the Bearcats earned a much- needed win to salvage the weekend. A pair of Bearcat goals 15 seconds apart sent the game to OT.

There’s no question the two New Brunswick games were rugged.

The Bearcats stuck together and realize the importance of that moving forward.

For stretches this season, the Bearcats consistently played the full 60 minutes of each game.

In recent weeks, they’ve gotten away from that.

Again, it’s the mental side of the game that surfaces when things don’t go the way you prefer.

Maintenance is important. This week, the team looks for a better week with games sched- uled in Valley, Saturday (7 p.m.) and at the RECC Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Bearcats and Wildcats split their two previous meetings. Both want this one.

Sunday, the Miramichi Timberwolves make their only Truro appearance in regularseason play. The visitors are a point out of second spot in their division.

Truro possesses two victories over the Timberwolves, one in Miramichi, the other in the Showcase. There’s no question what Miramichi’s intentions will be.

The annual Bible- Hill Kinsmen – Truro Bearcat Teddy Bear Toss is scheduled for Sunday’s afternoon game.
