Spring road weight restrictions coming into effect

Provincial road weight restrictions come into effect on March 11 at 12:01 a.m.

He said it was vital for people to learn how to respect both firearms and the surrounding environment by carefully aiming at a target, instead of firing randomly.
The March 16 Youth that Shoot event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The 30-minute safety training sessions will begin at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., after which the youth can shoot. Once children are ready to shoot, they can do target practice on the range using 20 air rifle or .22 rounds. The course costs $15 and space is limited.

Next week’s restrictions apply for the following counties: Colchester, Halifax, Cumberland, Digby, Hants, Kings, Lunenburg, Pictou, Queens, Shelburne and Yarmouth. Restrictions for Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, Richmond and Victoria counties will begin a week later at the same time. The weight restrictions to not apply to 100-series highways.
