TAPPED Beer Fest returning to Truro

- LYNN CURWIN

TRURO, N. S. – There’s a special event coming up for fans of craft beer.

TAPPED Truro Craft Beer Fest is back for the third consecutive year, offering people the chance to try several Nova Scotia craft beers.

“It’s taking place on the first Saturday of Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week and it’s an official event of the week,” said Amanda Langille, of Langille & Colburne. “It’s the second largest event of this kind in Nova Scotia, and the largest outside of Halifax.”

Fifteen breweries have already confirmed their attendance and Langille expects a few more to come on board.

“This is really special to Tanya (Colburne) and I because it supports local business and rural Nova Scotia.

“It’s been a success because the community has rallied around it. Over 850 people attended last year, and we hope to have even more this year.”

The festival will include entertainment and some fun activities are being planned for the evening.

TAPPED will take place at the Rath-eastlink Community Centre from 7-10 p.m. on April 27. Tickets are $29 +fee/tax, and includes access to event, 10 four-oz. samples, a TAPPED takehome glass, and a voucher for use toward an after-party beverage. The after party is being held at The Nook and Cranny.

Tickets for the event, as well as a limited number for the Truro Nissan shuttle, which will take people from the festival to downtown Truro, can be purchased online at www.morethanevents. ca.
