Holiday favourite returns to decoste

-

PICTOU, N.S. – Yes, Santa Claus, there is a Beulah Claxton. And she’s back!

Tis The Season 13 is the gift that keeps on giving. For many, this hit show has become an annual tradition, the official start of the holiday season. That’s not only for the patrons of the decoste, but also for the talented actors/musicians who perform in the show, including headliners Bette Macdonald & Maynard Morrison.

In addition to the assorted Cape Breton characters like Mary Morrison (who loves to tell you all about her episode of skinny dipping with her husband Gordie), the show includes a new edition of the wildly popular show featuring hilarious skits and festive songs performed by Jordan Musycsyn, guitarist Joe Waye Jr. and comedy performer Mary Colin Chisholm.

The show runs Thursday, Dec. 5 or Friday, Dec. 6 at the decoste Performing Arts Centre in Pictou.

This hilarious show has become the jumping off point to the yuletide season, featuring show favourites Beulah Claxton, Martin Mackinnon and Wayne Tomko, among others.

In this new version of the show, it’s no holds barred. It is a side-splitting, uproarious take on the most wonderful time of year.

Both shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and are near or over the 70-percent sold mark.

“It’s a show that regularly sells out early,” said decoste marketing manager Jennifer Maclennan. “The Thursday night performance is also the night we’ll be drawing for our earlybird prizes for those who purchase the Dream Vacation Draw Fundraiser Ticket with their 2020 membership before November 30th.”

Anyone who purchases their Dream Vacation Draw ticket will be entered for a chance to win a weekend getaway for two to Pictou

Beach Lodge Resort during their Beer Fest Weekend, usually held in June. Anyone purchasing a 2020 decoste membership with their DVD ticket is entered to win front row reserved VIP seats in the general admission section for all performances at the decoste in 2020.

For tickets contact the decoste box office, 99 Water St., Pictou, Monday to Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 902-4858848 or 1-800-353-5338, or visit decostecentre.ca/tickets.
