MOORE, Mary Agnes Truro

Mary Agnes Moore, Truro, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2019 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with her loved ones by her side. Mary was born in Riverside Corner, Hants County on September 13, 1927 and was a daughter of the late Mary Dalrymple and Gordon Ward. She was raised by her Aunt Christie and Uncle Mason White in Noel Road. She was very proud of her children and caring grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren and cherished her time with them. She enjoyed a beautiful life on Hillcrest Avenue, surrounded by family, friends, and special neighbours. She was blessed with love from her many friends and family and will be dearly missed by all. Mary taught in Burntcoat School from 1946-47, served as book keeper for their family business, Moore’s IGA and later worked part time as secretary in Bible Hill Elementary School. She was a graduate of the Windsor School of Business (secretaria­l program) in 1948. As a longtime member of First United Church, she enjoyed her craft group as well as the monthly gatherings with the UCW ladies. She enjoyed baking, pickling and was recognized for her biscuits and pies which filled our homes with happiness and love. Mary leaves behind her three children, Heather (Peter) Robichaud, Dave (Jennifer) Moore, Cheryl (Tony) Orr; grandchild­ren, Scott Maclean (Cyndi), Truro, Shawn Maclean (Cindy), Enfield, Nick Maclean, (Amanda), Halifax, Ryan Moore (Emily), Edmonton, Tracy Moore (Marty), Halifax, Lauren (Adam) Moore, Toronto, Tamara Pearce (Kevin), Red Deer, André Robichaud (Tiffany), Truro; great-grandchild­ren, Gracie, Zackary, Daniel, Bailey, Owen, Mack, plus waiting for the arrival of two more; sisters, Dorothy Moore, Shirley (Lorne) Cock; brother, Gilbert White (Shirley); sisters-in-law, Kathleen Henry and Jean Smith; brother-in-law, Jim Moore (Donna), nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mary was predecease­d by her husband of 67 years, Gordon; her brothers, Roy, Elmore, Russell, Gordon, Ernest; sisters, Myrta, Minnie, Ella, Eva, Rae, Joyce, Agnes and Catherine, and grandson, Brendon Orr. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors on the ICU and 3D wing. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12 from 6 – 8 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, with a funeral service on Friday, December 13 at 2 p.m. in First United Church, 711 Prince St., Truro with Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiatin­g. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Church - Truro, Bible Hill Cemetery or charity of choice.
