BEARCAT BYTES Jacob Evans

-

Hometown: Wausau, WI

Number: 73

Age: 20

Position: Defence

H-W: 6-1, 185 lbs. Bearcat-of-the-week honours go to recent acquisition Jacob Evans.

In the 5-2 win over Amherst to wrap up pre-christmas play, Jacob was involved in three first-period power-play goals, assisting on the first two, then scoring on the third, which proved to be the winner. Consider that a good night’s work. Jacob spent two seasons split between Team Wisconsin U16 and Wausau high school play. In the 2017-2018 season he ventured to Manitoba to play junior with the Dauphin Kings. He played 39 games with the Kings last year before being traded within the MJHL to the Virden Oil Capitals. After 28 Oil Capital games to start this season, he came east to the Bearcats. In his first four Truro Bearcat starts he’s displayed a solid combination of mobility and poise, earning time in all situations.
