Windsor man wanted on province-wide warrant flees from police, arrested

RCMP, said Sampson was charged with resisting arrest, escaping from custody and breach of recognisan­ce.

“RCMP officers were conducting a traffic checkpoint in the area of exit 5A on Highway 101, when they recognized a passenger in a vehicle as being a man wanted on a provincial- wide warrant,” Lobb said in a phone interview.

“Officers attempted to arrest the man, but he fled from police. The man was arrested a short time later at a business on Cole Drive in Windsor.”

Lobb said Sampson fled from the vehicle and started running from the police on foot.

“He was arrested and held in police custody overnight,” she said.

Sampson appeared in Kentville provincial court on Aug. 18.
