Crystanny’s Brasserie one of two eateries now open in Canning

-

The Maxner family in Canning has opened Crystany’s Brasserie to cater to those on a gluten-free diet.

Crystal Maxner said she did not learn until she was an adult that she suffers when eating gluten. Those experiences helped prompt the new business.

Aimed at an upscale, casual clientele, Maxner said the family operation specializes in a gluten-free menu that appeals to all types of appetites. She terms the gluten- free kitchen unique in rural Nova Scotia.

There is a green and pastoral view from the upstairs patio, which overlooks the Habitant River.

Crystanny’s isn’t the only new business in the area - Bigwigs Family Dining is another eatery that opened on Main Street in Canning this summer.
