Failed to report to sex offender registrati­on centre

Scott Lee Gray, 42, of Windsor, has been fined for failing to comply with an obligation to report to the Sex Offender Informatio­n Registrati­on Act (SOIRA) registrati­on centre whenever required for life.

Gray is obligated to report between 11 months and one year after he last reported to the registrati­on centre.

Gray was present in Windsor provincial court in custody on other matters on May 9. He pleaded guilty to the charge. Judge Alan Tufts fined Gray a total of $325.

Gray committed the offence in Windsor between Aug. 11 and Dec. 6, 2016.

Breathalys­er offences

Randolph Lee Bryski, 54, of Kentville, has been fined and sentenced to probation for having care or control of a motor vehicle while his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.

Bryski pleaded guilty to the charge on May 9. Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek fined Bryski a total of $1,690, imposed a one-year driving prohibitio­n against him and sentenced him to one year of reporting probation.

Bryski committed the offence in Berwick on March 9. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. Bryski gave breathalys­er readings of 240 and 240.

Meanwhile, Brodie Arthur Greene, 22, of Harmony, was also fined for having care or control of a motor vehicle while his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.

Greene pleaded guilty to the charge on May 9. Van Der Hoek fined Greene $1,300 and imposed a one-year driving prohibitio­n.

Greene committed the offence in Greenwood on March 19, when he gave breathalys­er readings of 90 and 90.

Refused breathalys­er

Paul Vincent Hoffer, 62, of Weston, has been fined for refusing to comply with a demand made to him by a police officer to provide samples of his breath for analysis to determine the concentrat­ion, if any, of alcohol in his blood.

Hoffer pleaded guilty to the charge on May 9. Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek fined Hoffer $1,300 and imposed a oneyear driving prohibitio­n.

Hoffer committed the offence in Coldbrook on Jan. 25. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

Time deemed served for probation offence

Janine Alisa Janes, 41, of Windsor, has been sentenced to time deemed served for failing to comply with probation.

Janes pleaded guilty to the charge on May 2. The matter was adjourned to May 5 for sentencing. Judge Jean Whalen sentenced Janes to one day in custody deemed served and fined her $100 in victim surcharges.

Janes committed the offence in Windsor on March 1.

Recognizan­ce offence

Colton Charles Dempsey, 20, of South Kingston, has been handed a suspended sentence with probation for failing to comply with his recognizan­ce.

Dempsey pleaded guilty to the charge on May 9. Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek handed him a suspended sentence with six months of reporting probation. Dempsey was fined $100 in victim surcharges.

Dempsey committed the offence in Kentville between Oct. 9 and Dec. 26, 2016. A charge of failing to comply with his undertakin­g was withdrawn.
