While the pool is closed, Aca­dia will use the op­por­tu­nity to fix pool and pool­side tiles and grout as well as fully in­spect wa­ter sup­ply, drainage, and fil­tra­tion sys­tems and make any nec­es­sary re­pairs.

The clo­sure will af­fect Aquafit, se­nior and par­ent-tot swim, pub­lic and mem­ber lane swim, and swim­ming lessons. The pool will also be un­avail­able to the Wolfville Tri­tons Swim Club and Aca­dia’s sum­mer camp pro­gram.

“We’re hope­ful that we’ll be up and run­ning on sched­ule,” says Dickie.

“The Aca­dia pool is an im­por­tant as­set within our com­mu­nity and even a short term clo­sure in­ter­rupts the fit­ness and re­cre­ation rou­tines of many peo­ple. Of course, like any fa­cil­ity, it needs to be looked af­ter to re­main open, and this was one of the few win­dows avail­able to us to make these im­por­tant re­pairs.”
