• Breakfast: Hantsport & District Lions Club — From 7–10 a.m. at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Hall, Chittick Ave., Hantsport. Cost: $7 per person, $3.50 for children ages six to 12 years, free for children age five and under.

• Grow with Art Workshop — From 1–3 p.m. at NSCC, Belcher Street, Kentville. For ages six to 14. Cost: $2 per child.

• Valley Gardeners Meeting — At 7:30 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room at Kingstec, 236 Belcher St. Dr. Murray Colbo will be speaking on the topic ‘What is a garden and why do people garden?’ This is a fascinatin­g look at the evolution of gardening. Everyone is welcome to attend.

JAN. 9

• Crib — At 7 p.m. at the Berwick Legion. Team play is $10 per player, includes high hand, 50/50, cash prizes for first, second and third place, and an ongoing cookie jar. Everyone welcome.
