• Avondale Snowshoe Hike — At

1:45 p.m. Hike Nova Scotia and the West Hants Trails Associatio­n present a guided snowshoe hike on the Avondale trail system in Avondale. Bring your own snowshoes. See www. hikenovasc­otia.ca for details.

• Lions (Food Bank) Breakfast — At the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Hall, on Chittick Avenue in Hantsport, from 7-10 a.m. Cost: $7 per adult; $3.50 for children ages six to 12 years; free for children five years and under. Sponsored by the Hantsport & District Lions Club. They are also accepting donations to the local food bank. Bring a donation to assist those in need.

• Community Pancake Breakfast — From 9 a.m. until noon at the Windsor Masonic Hall, 18 Centennial Dr., Windsor. Being held by the Fundy Chapter of DeMolay. Pancakes, sausages, juice, tea, coffee. Cost: $8 each or two meals for $12. Children under five years eat for free.

• Open House — At the Forest Lakes Country Club in Ardoise from 2-4 p.m. Join the staff for the first open house of the year. • Study — At Superstore, 11 Cole Dr., in Windsor at 6:30 p.m. Researcher­s are looking for people to take part in a study about the public’s values on fairness issues related to health and health care. A focus group (about 1.5 – 2 hours long) is being held in Windsor Feb. 7. It would consist of one survey (about five minutes long) at the beginning of the focus group and one follow-up telephone interview (about 30 minutes long). Participan­ts must be 19 years of age or older, able to read and converse comfortabl­y in English, able to travel to attend a focus group and the primary focus of your job or study is/was not health.
