Johnny Cash tribute in Berwick

On Sept. 30, the Royal Canadian Legion in Berwick is hosting the ‘World’s Most Authentic Johnny Cash Tribute,’ featuring Paul Anthony at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $20. The legion is located at 232 Main St. in Berwick.

Rememberin­g John and Yoko

John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Imagine: Remastered and Remixed, which the pair starred and directed, will be shown at King’s Theatre in Annapolis Royal on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. for wine and popcorn.

The 68-minute film, which was first released in 1972, has been restored frameby-frame, and the soundtrack has been remixed and remastered.

The release will also will be accompanie­d by 15 minutes of cinema-exclusive, neverbefor­e-seen extras in the form of studio footage of Lennon and his band (including George Harrison) performing How Do You Sleep? and Oh My Love, as well as an up-close-and-personal version of Oh Yoko, filmed during their ‘bed-in for peace’ in the Bahamas.

There will be reserved seating.

Tickets on sale now. Cost: $13 for members; $14 for adults; $8 for youth.

Valley Voices Chorus in Kentville

The Valley Voices Chorus, a chapter of Harmony Inc., welcomes the public to attend a regular rehearsal evening on Oct. 9 from 8-9:30 p.m. that will showcase a cappella four-part harmony. This group is comprised of women of all ages recognized for excellence in singing four-part harmonies in the barbershop style. Members pay internatio­nal and chapter dues to cover expenses of the chorus. Tuesday night is the group’s regular rehearsal evening. Guests are welcome. Free to attend. The rehearsals are held at the United Baptist Church at 503 Main St., in Kentville.

Charley’s Aunt comes to CentreStag­e

Charley’s Aunt by Brandon Thomas, a perennial favourite, runs at CentreStag­e Theatre in Kentville until Oct. 13.
