• Monthly Soup & Dessert Luncheon — At the Orchard Valley United Church from 11:45 a.m. until 1 p.m. Menu includes choice of Tuscan bean soup or roasted cauliflower soup, homemade biscuits and rolls, tea/coffee and cake with caramel sauce for dessert. • Alexander Keith’s Birthday Party
— At the Berwick Legion starting at 7 p.m. Featuring Wayne Parker with his varied musical repertoire. There will be prizes and a 50/50 draw.

• Fall Antique Tractor Pull — At the Northville Farm Heritage Centre beginning at 10 a.m. (Rain date is Oct. 7.). Admission: $5; free for children under 12 years of age. Info: www. northvillefarn.ca or call 902-6799455.
• Breakfast — At the Berwick Lions Hall, KMCC from 8-10 a.m. Freewill offering collected. Full breakfast includes: eggs (fried or scrambled), baked beans, pancakes, bacon, sausage, toast, juice, coffee and tea.
• Ticket Auction — At the Greenwich Fire Hall. Viewing starts at 1 p.m. and the auction is at 2 p.m. There will be a cake draw, 50/50 draw, pie sale, and the canteen will be available. Proceeds are for the work of the Wolfville Ridge Baptist Church.
• Dance — At the Kentville Legion starting at 9 p.m. Band is Bob Deveau and The Hi-lights. Cost: $8; adults only. Bar and kitchen available.
• Crib Tournament — At the Kentville Legion. Registration at 12:30 p.m.; play starts at 1 p.m., upstairs. Cost: $20 per team. Sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary.
• Ticket Auction — At the Wolfville Ridge Baptist Church. Viewing begins at 11 a.m.; draw at 1 p.m. Tickets are 20 for $1. Pie sale, cake board and canteen.

• Flea Market — At the Meadowview Community Centre, 8464 Brooklyn St., Kentville from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is $2 at door; table rental is $5. To book a table call 902678-7084. Canteen available.
• Ticket Auction — At the Waterville Fire Hall. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.; draw at 2 p.m. There will be a 50/50 draw, bake table, canteen. This is in support of Haley Pinch as she goes to ACTMA-building confidence in young girls.

• Turkey Dinner and Supper — At the Forties Community Centre, in New Ross at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30-4:30 p.m. Turkey dinner with all the trimmings, plus dessert, and tea or coffee. Cost: $13 for adults; $7 for children aged five to 12 years; $3 for children age four years and younger. There will be local entertainment. Sponsored by Canadian Heritage as part of Oktoberfest celebrations.

• Chase the Ace and Final Backyard Barbecue — At the Berwick Legion from 5-7 p.m. Barbecue features a six-ounce ribeye steak with potato salad and bun. Cost: $10; must be purchased in advance and are available at the bar. Dessert costs $2. Chase the ace tickets are three for $5.
• The Upbeats — At the Berwick Legion at 7 p.m. This is a little band with the big sound.
• Valley Trekkers Volkssport Club Walk — Meet at the Aurora Inn, 831 Main St., in Kingston. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. for walking at 6 p.m. This is 5/10 km, 1A walk.

• Country Music Show — At the Wolfville Legion Branch 74, 310 Main St., at 7 p.m. Entertainers include: Caroll Edwards, B.J. McKay, Nathan Haley, Eugene Rafuse, Audley Pineo, and Harold Hunt. There will be a canteen and 50/50 draw. Admission: $5. All proceeds for Legion purposes.
• Horton Craft Fair — At Horton High School, 75 Greenwich Road South, in Greenwich, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Celebrating its 23rd year, this fair is a major fundraiser organized by the Horton High School Music Parents Association. The fair features more then 165 crafters and artisans on two accessible levels. Café, door prizes, musical entertainment, ticket auction.
• Pancake Breakfast — At the Aylesford United Church from 8-11am. Menu: pancakes, scrambled eggs, ham, sausages, toast, tea, coffee and juice. Freewill admission collected. Fundraised raised go towards Make A Change 2019 — a group of students travelling to the Dominican Republic in March to build a house for a family in need.
• Dance — At the Kentville Legion starting at 9 p.m. Band is Route 12. Cost: $8; adults only. Bar and kitchen available.
• Ham, Bean and Potato Scallop Supper — At North Alton Church. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Cost: $12 for adults; $6 for children 12 years and under.
• Jam Session — At the Berwick Legion from 2-5 p.m. Bring your talent or just come and listen. Free.

• Ticket Auction — At the Waterville Fire Hall from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tickets are 10 for $1; draws start at 2 p.m. Coffee and sweets table for a freewill donation. There will be $2 raffle tickets on $400 (estimated) in gift cards, $20 raffle tickets on $1,000 cash prize (just 100 tickets available). • Valley Gardeners Meeting — Room 241 in the Beveridge Arts Centre, 22 Highland Ave., in Wolfville at 7:30 p.m. This will be a joint meeting with the Blomidon Naturalists Society.
The speaker will be Doug Hickman discussing the topic of water and wildlife in the backyard.

• Information Session on Emergency Preparedness — At the Millville Community Hall at 7 p.m. Dan Stovel, the Regional Emergency Management coordinator for Kings County, will be offering the presentation. Those interested in attending are asked to phone/ text Candice Davis at 902-840-1562 by Oct. 8 so the group has a general idea of how many to expect. Drop-ins are still welcome.
• Canada Day 2019 Needs You — Come to a meeting at Trinity Pentecostal Church, 468 Central Ave., in Greenwood.
