• Monthly Community Luncheon — The Kingston Lions will host their monthly community luncheon at 1482 Veterans Lane, from noon to 1 p.m. Cost: $10 at the door; $11 delivery to Kingston/Greenwood. For delivery, call 902-765-2128 by 10:30 a.m.

• Bookmobile Visit — At the Community Hall in Black River from 10:45 a.m. until noon; at the community hall in Baxter’s Harbour from 1:30-2:20 p.m. and at the Coldbrook Centre from 3:154:15 p.m. consist of eggs, bacon, pancakes, hash browns, toast, juice, and tea or coffee. Cost: $8 for adults; $4 for youth ages five to 12 years; free for children under five years. Santa will be there to meet with the children.

• Hymn Sing — At the Wolfville Ridge Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Christmas program with special music by the choir and other church members. A time for fellowship and refreshments to follow. A freewill offering will be collected.

• Christmas Carol Sing — At Gaspereau Church at 10 a.m. This is a community tradition and features eggnog and hot apple cider.

• Fundraiser — At the Greenwich Fire Hall, 9798 Highway 1, from 5-9 p.m. There will be a ticket auction, as well as a silent auction, a DJ on site, plus a bake sale, and a potluck ($5 a plate). There will also be pictures with Santa for $10. This a fundraiser for the family of Darren Pineo.
