• Christmas Coffee Party

— At St. Andrews’s Anglican Church, Main Street, in Hantsport from 9:30-11 a.m. Admission: $5. There will be bake, craft and white elephant tables, books, and puzzles.

• Christmas Cookie Swap — At the Isabel and Roy Jodrey Memorial Library, 10 Main St., in Hantsport from noon until 1 p.m. Bring a box of your favourite homemade Christmas cookies (with a few extra for sampling) to share and swap! Display and sampling starts at noon and the swap starts at 12:30 p.m. The more the merrier. Please include the cookie recipe with your cookies. Info or to register: 902684-0103.

• Author Reading — Join local author and journalist Laura Churchill Duke as she reads from her first novel, Two Crows Sorrow, at the Isabel and Roy Jodrey Memorial Library from 11 a.m. until noon. There will be light refreshmen­ts. Copies of the book, at a cost of $25, will be available.

Cadance Academy will be presenting The Nutcracker at the Festival Theatre on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 plus HST and can be purchased online at www.cadanceaca­demy.ca or by contacting Cadance at info@cadanceaca­demy.ca or 902-679-3616. • Super Christmas Bingo

— At the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 009 in Windsor from 7:30-10 p.m. All regular games are $300.

• Community Christmas Service — At the St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, 908 Avondale Rd., in Poplar Grove from 6:30-8 p.m. This will be an old-fashioned Christmas service with music and carols beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Holy Eucharist at 7 p.m. Celebrate the season with Rev. Lisa Vaughn, vitality diocesan coordinato­r. Free.

• Christmas Eve Service

— At Glad Tidings Worship Center, 5938 Chester Rd., in Curry’s Corner from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
