Winterruption brings sights and sounds to brighten the weekend

FRIDAY
I Love You Because Inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, this sixperson musical set in New York City will provide plenty of unexpected twists.

Michael Bernard Fitzgerald with Acres of Lions
This Calgary singer- songwriter, whom his fans refer to as MBF, has a knack for cool, relaxed vibes with sensible pop hooks, as displayed on his 2009 album The MBF Love LP. Add a dash of Victoria pop- rockers Acres of Lions and their hit single Reaction, and you have a pretty fun evening lined up. Free. ( Performance Works, 9 p. m.)
SATURDAY
The Great Mountain
In this heartwarming play based on a traditional Aboriginal tale, a young girl discovers the transformative power of nature and the importance of courage. Free.
