I love watching Leverage. What has happened to the cast? — Judi Walker
As you probably know, they’ve gone their separate ways, since what you’re seeing now are repeats of the series that ended in 2012. Timothy Hutton (alias team leader Nathan on Leverage) actually has another series lined up: ABC’s American Crime, from Oscarwinning 12 Years a Slave screenwriter John Ridley. It is expected to debut midseason. Christian Kane (Eliot) also is going back to series work, and will be in the forthcoming show The Librarians (inspired by Noah Wyle’s Librarian adventure movies). Gina Bellman (Sophie) made a guest appearance on BBC America’s Ripper Street. Beth Riesgraf (Parker) turned up on such shows as Criminal Minds and The Mentalist, and she also had an Internet series titled Caper. After co-starring with Bruce Willis in A Good Day to Die Hard and popping up in an episode of The Walking Dead, Aldis Hodge has been seen more steadily lately as Jordan on AMC’s Turn.
I’ve heard that the new season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have a spinoff. Is that so? — Mike Lewis
S.H.I.E.L.D. will take a break about midway through Season 2, with a new show about the Marvel character Agent Carter (played, as she has been in the Captain America movies, by Hayley Atwell) airing in that time-slot. No word yet whether the show will continue as a series.
I’m enjoying Vinessa Shaw as the reporter on Movie Central’s Ray Donovan. What else would I have seen her in? — John Crane
Her previous series was CBS’s Vegas, in which she had a recurring role as Michael Chiklis’s wife. The model turned actress also had guest parts on such shows as CSI: NY and House, but she’s worked much more frequently in movies, some of which have become staples of premium cable networks. Two of them are Stag Night and Garden Party, but we’d recommend Two Lovers, in which she’s excellent as one of the two love interests of Joaquin Phoenix (the other being Gwyneth Paltrow). Shaw also is popular every Halloween with the annual showings of the 1993 Disney movie Hocus Pocus, featuring her as one of the youngsters who battle the witches played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.
