Passed away peacefully on April 16, 2016 in Vancouver at the age of 92. Predeceased by beloved husband, Godfrey J.H. Dean in 1978; her parents Mary and Duncan Pollock; siblings, Matthew Pollock, George Pollock and Catherine Durrant; nephews, Duncan Pollock (surviving widow Marian Pollock) and George Mackeen. She is survived by nephew, William Pollock; nieces, Maryann Burchart, Grace Kool and Dianne Diebel; and greatnieces and nephews. She was proudly born in Uddingston, Scotland in 1923. As a young child her parents and family immigrated to Vancouver. She always remained faithful to her Scottish heritage. In her young adult life she lived for many years in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she became an accomplished professional floral designer. When she returned to Vancouver in the mid 1950s she continued with her profession. Her passion and interest for floral arranging carried into her retirement years. After marrying Godfrey in 1959 she enjoyed entertaining and hosting events for their friends and his business associates. Her other interests included playing her organ, a zither her parents gave her in the 1930s, singing, and crosswords from The Province. She lived in her own home until she was 91 and then happily spent her final years in South Granville Park Lodge. Many thanks to the wonderful staff for their care and attention to Jan. A committal service will be held at the Abbey Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby, BC at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.
