Poplar Grove The Legacy 2012, Okanagan Valley $47.99 | 89/100 UPC: 626990199052 Legacy is never a blockbuster but more of a savoury, soft-textured red blend that is well aged by the winery before release. The 2012 has an earthy, leafy, savoury, cassis-scented nose. The attack is round and soft, the tannins chalky and equally accommodating. The flavours: savoury, earthy and red fruits, mimicking the blend led by 35 per cent Cabernet Franc mixed with 23 per cent Malbec, 22 per cent Merlot and 20 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon. It spends 21 months in French oak, and then 24 months in cellar before it is released. A perfect match to rare grilled T-bone steaks.
