5 NOTABLES SHOWN THE DOOR
DELTA NORTH
Scott Hamilton won a surprise victory in this riding for the Liberals in 2013, but the NDP snatched it back with a strong campaign and candidate — former Olympian Ravi Kahlon. But maybe Hamilton should have seen the writing on the wall after he mistakenly signed the B.C. Green party candidate’s nomination form.
NORTH VANCOUVERLONSDALE
Naomi Yamamoto, first elected in 2009 and appointed minister of state for emergency preparedness in July 2015, went down to defeat in a riding that became a focus for the New Democrats after a confrontation between Liberal Leader Christy Clark and a woman called Linda.
SURREY-FLEETWOOD
After a successful municipal career, Peter Fassbender hoped he could do the same in Victoria after winning in 2013. But he was minister of education during the teacher’s strike in 2014 and lately minister responsible for TransLink. SURREY-GUILDFORD

VANCOUVER-FRASERVIEW
First elected in 2013 and appointed attorney general, Suzanne Anton won by fewer than 500 votes in a riding that has always been a tug of war. This time, her lacklustre style proved her undoing in spite of a competent performance in cabinet.
