Beblue offers Canadian-made jewelry with meaning

- ALEESHA HARRIS

Searching for a Canadian-made jewelry collection? You might want to take a look at Beblue Bijoux et Accessoires.

The Montreal-based brand offers hand-crafted jewelry items for women, men and kids — each with an inspirational ambition.

Ambre Cadoux, the designer behind Beblue, recently chatted with The Sun about meaningful designs, building an “affordable luxury” brand and more.

Q When and why did you first start Beblue?

A Creating Beblue was really a way for me to express myself fully as an artistic entrepreneur. I knew I would never be happy in the corporate world, and I wanted to be surrounded by beauty, travel, business challenges and creativity, so I had to design this lifestyle for myself. Then, why jewelry? I think it came naturally, as I always have been passionate about finding the pieces of jewelry that would make me feel good. I built a big personal collection of readyto-wear jewelry over the years, and people were always asking where I found them. So, I started Beblue in 2010.

Q Is there a story behind the name?

A motherBlue is gave the me artist when nameI was my a child. She knew long before me I would live a very artistic life. And Be is for the verb to be. Because I believe that we choose a piece of jewelry depending on how it makes us feel at that moment and that we draw our motivation, energy, willpower and all other positive emotions we need within our own inside feelings.

Q For those who aren’t familiar, what do you sell?

A We are one of the few Canadian companies to offer a complete line of fine jewelry, made in Canada, from bracelets, to necklaces, chains, rings, earrings as well as our men’s bracelet collection named Gentlemen By Beblue and a small collection for children named Be Loved.

Q What inspires the designs?

A Every season, I draw a lot of my inspirations in the fashion trends, colour trends to offer our clientele a selection that will co-ordinate with their wardrobe. Also, my travels around the world, such as in Dubai, Bangkok, Hong Kong or Paris inspire me a lot.

Q What is the price point for your collection?

A Our prices range from $45 to $400. It is important to me that Beblue stays an accessible luxury brand.

Q Where can shoppers check them out?

A Shoppers can visit one of our beautiful retailers and they can also order online at Bebluebijoux.com.
