Verdant Vancouver? There’s nothing green about new plaza
I’ve been watching with horror the development of the area behind the Vancouver Art Gallery. In a city that claims to be green, we find a fancy concrete, flat space, even stripped of the “living” Centennial Fountain.
Now we’ll get to witness this new plaza, similar to the concrete that is Granville Street, deteriorate and become home for the pigeons, foraging for scraps from the food trucks.
Where is the green in Vancouver? I guess we have to assume it’s the token wooden benches surrounding a display of flowers.
