Dinner to help Whistler’s rescue efforts

The Whistler Search and Rescue Society will hold its 18th annual gourmet dinner and auction, Wine’d Up, on Oct. 14 at Dusty’s Bar & Grill, Whistler Creekside.

The five-course dinner prepared by five renowned Whistler chefs will be paired with wines from California. Guests will enjoy live and silent auctions loaded with items donated by businesses, artists and individual­s in Whistler and across B.C.

Need a Thanksgivi­ng dinner

H2 Rotisserie & Bar and executive chef Kamal Silva open a fall culinary series Oct. 9 with a Thanksgivi­ng-themed cooking lesson and dinner featuring a holiday spinach salad, roast turkey with all the fixings, and pumpkin chiffon pie. H2’s chefs will teach the basics of prepping a turkey with cranberry stuffing, gravy, maple yams, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and roasted brussels sprouts with bacon and Parmesan. Class starts at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Class capacity is 12 people maximum, with a cost of $85 per person. Wine is extra.
