Coastal Ford Trucks: The right tool for the job

THE 2018 FORD F-150 LINE-UP IS PRESENTED IN A RANGE OF TRIM PACKAGES

-

Ford has built a name in work trucks. But with a range of capable trucks in its work line-up, buyers often ask the staff at Coastal Ford which model they recommend. “We certainly don’t have one answer for all customers,” says Dave Michnik, director of sales, Lower Mainland operations, Coastal Ford. “The best truck is the one that helps them complete the hardwork they’re demanding of it. What you tow, carry and deliver is just as important as where you’re driving it.” With an attractive starting price point, the F-150 is a favourite Ford for hard-working Canadians. This truck doesn’t stint on power or toughness. Both cab and box are fabricated from high-strength, military grade aluminum alloy, slimming down this model by as much as 317 kilograms over its predecessor. That translates directly into better fuel efficiency and greater towing and payload capacities. An impressive power to - weight ratio also results in faster acceleration, enhanced handling and better brake responsiveness. Depending on model, engine and accessories, the F-150 can handle payloads of up to 1,483 kg. The F-150 also offers a generous maximum towing capacity of 5,533 kg when equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. With a solid track record and proven performance in more than a halfmillion F-150s, the 3.5L EcoBoost delivers bestin-class torque for a V6 engine, outstripping its gasoline - and diesel-powered competitors. Improved twin turbos and a lighter turbine wheel int he all new turbo chargers help deliver that hefty power boost. The F-150 offers three cab choices. The Regular Cab provides seating for three passengers, while the SuperCab and SuperCrew cabins feature a back seat and can accommodate up to six passengers. You can tell the difference between SuperCab and SuperCrew models by the doors. A SuperCab has four doors, however, the rears are smaller and open backward. The SuperCrew has four full-size doors that open in the same direction. Towing novices and seasoned pros can benefit from available Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which complements their own skills, and simplifies the process of backing up a trailer with the simple turn of a knob. Operators rotate the knob left or right in the direction they want the trailer to go, and let the knob return to centre to straighten the trailer out. Cutting the time and stress of trailer back-ups can really improve productivity. In addition, the current generation F-150 boasts 31 safety related innovations. Safety features begin with a fully-boxed frame featuring eight crossmembers made of up to 78 per cent high strength steel. An advanced restraint system offers dual-stage airbags, and available inflatable rear seat belts in SuperCrew models. The 2018 Ford F-150 line-up is presented in a range of trim packages: Ford XL, Ford XLT, Ford LARIAT, Ford King Ranch and Ford Platinum. You decide whether you want the most economical workhorse or a hard-working truck that will also turn heads. “Talk to our professional sales staff about options and trim packages and really crunch the numbers,” advises Michnik. “They’ll help you match the right truck to the jobs you’re asking of it. Better still, for a limited time enjoy Ford Employee pricing deals on the full range of 2018 F-150 packages.” 2018 Ford SuperDuty Tougher and lighter than its predecessor, the newest SuperDuty includes an allnew fully boxed frame made of more than 95 per cent highstrength steel. The frame is 24 times stiffer than last year’s, yet the SuperDuty tips the scales 158 kg lighter. Depending on model and engine size, the SuperDuty can haul a maximum payload of 7,630 lbs. and offers a maximum conventional towing capacity of 21,000 lbs. 2018 Ford Transit Connect The attractive starting price point of the Ford Transit Connect never compromises its versatility—and it’s built to stringent Ford Light Commercial Vehicle Durability Standards. As a cargo work van it offers up to 4,219 litres of storage and a payload rating of up to 1630 lbs. In its alter ego as the Transit Connect Passenger Wag on it offers a versatile arrangement of three rows of seats and carries as many as seven people. 2018 Ford Transit When you love the Connect but you’re taking your business to the next level, the Ford Transit is a great commercial option. The Transit Cargo Van and Passenger Wagon are built with strong, lightweight unibody construction. Both Van and Passenger Wagons are available in three versions, offering larger, longer, and taller commercial models. Haul van cargo payloads as great as 4,590 lbs. with a roof rack and ladder weighing up to 420 lbs. Passenger Wagons can safely carry as many as 15 passengers.
