Custom touches at Coach Create

Shoppers stopping by the Coach store on Burrard Street in downtown Vancouver are in for a treat. The store is now one of only two Canadian locations to offer the new Coach Create service.

While the majority of the American leather goods brand’s outposts across the country already offer various customization services such as monogramming, accessories and more — the downtown Vancouver and Toronto Yorkdale shops will be home to a whole new level of build-a-bag opportunities.

And the best part? It takes only about an hour to complete a bag from start to finish.

Shoppers have four silhouettes to choose from — a clutch, the original cross-body Dinky, larger Dinky 24 and the iconic Saddle 24 — when considering their custom creation. From there, a Coach artisan (each trained at Coach’s workshop in New York City) will walk them through the plethora of possible personalized options including colour, embellishments, monogramming and more.

The design-it-yourself handbag offering sees options for personalization in three theme areas: Tea Rose (pretty, painted petals of varying colours and sizes); Prairie Rivets (Western-inspired nailheads, semi-precious stones and pearls); and Souvenir Pins (virtually everything from stars and studs to emojis and rocket ships).

While exciting, the process of choosing the details for a handbag of your own design may be a bit daunting, so the brand has also introduced on online destination where shoppers can play around with their prospective creations — and preview what it will look like before purchasing.

The new Coach Create collection starts at $300 and goes up depending on embellishment type and amount.
