FOSTER MARTIN’S MASTER-PLANNED COMMUNITY MAKING WAVES IN WHITE ROCK

- ROBIN BRUNET

Occasionally, a new residential development can truly lay claim to having a particular attribute that new home buyers want and no other project has.

Then there is Foster Martin by Landmark Premiere Properties Ltd. This comprehensive community has not one but many of them, starting with location: the master-planned urban community is situated in White Rock just blocks from that seaside community’s famous Semiahmoo Bay beaches, with panoramic views of nearby mountains to the east and to the north, Blaine, Washington and Vancouver Island.

The spaciousness of the three towers’ 334 condominiums is also noteworthy. “Whereas it’s normal for downsizers to move into 1,000-square-foot homes, Foster Martin offers homes that are 2,000 square feet, all with a seaside orientation — even for northfacing units, thanks to wraparound decks,” says Scott Brown, president and CEO of Fifth Avenue Real Estate.

Plus, Landmark has gone to great lengths to ensure the homes with their nine-foot ceilings and huge windows can be personalized and customized to a far greater degree than in typical upscale condo developments: the Seaside Traditional and Seaside Contemporary interiors can be accented based on personal preference of light or dark materials, and a diverse menu of options enables owners to further personalize each room.

This is in addition to Landmark sparing no expense in providing top-quality appliances, finishes and layouts thoughtfully curated by Landmark’s design team.

The homes are matched by an impressive amenities package that includes;

• Indoor/outdoor heated pool/outdoor hot tub

• Steam room and sauna

• Health and fitness room

• Business centre

• Games room

• Private shuttle, exclusive to residents

• Personal Residential Service by FirstService

• Retail shops and services • Vehicle charging stations

But that’s not all: when completed, the three towers, which architect IBI has staggered to resemble a series of waves lapping the shore, will be augmented by White Rock Commons, a retail and recreational space that will link the town centre with the seaside. “White Rock has always been a desirable place to live, and the Commons will make it probably the most walkable community in terms of the ability to walk to shops, services, hospital and doctors,” says Brown.

Unsurprisingly, the buzz generated by Foster Martin has resulted in an unusually successful preconstruction sales campaign considering the price point and focus on affluent end users versus low priced investment seekers, to the degree that construction will soon begin on two of the towers (originally only one was scheduled for groundbreaking in the spring of 2018) as well as a major portion of the Commons. “We’re generating tremendous interest among downsizers who are keen to take advantage of a development near water that averages only $1,000 per square foot rather than $3,000 per square foot in Vancouver,” says Brown.

In short, while buyers for the larger Foster Martin condos will spend anywhere from $1.76 to $2.5 million for their homes, they are getting substantial bang for their buck. “We’re very excited by this project, as it accommodates everything Landmark determined via careful study what customers want in a luxury accommodation,” says Brown.

Completion of Foster Martin is estimated for late 2020. For more information visit www.fostermartin.ca
