StreetSide earns industry recognition at the Georgies

- BY ROBIN BRUNET

When StreetSide Developments (BC) Ltd. first opened for business in 2014, it was in a property development market that could conservatively be described as ultra-competitive. And yet, the young company recently distinguished itself at the 2018 Georgie Awards winning Best Project Identity and Best Corporate/ Project Website awards for its Everly Green project in Langley.

Taking home two Georgie Awards for Everly Green is further evidence that StreetSide is a significant force in Metro Vancouver’s multifamily residential market. “It was a great honour to receive as we are extremely proud of these Langley-based townhomes and our commitment to quality, which is also driving the development of our latest project, Canopy at Tynehead Park,” says Vanessa Isler, StreetSide’s director of sales and marketing.

But the win is hardly surprising. StreetSide is a division of Qualico, Western Canada’s largest fully integrated, privately owned real estate company with 65 years of building homes to exacting standards. Qualico’s reputation for quality was instilled by its founder, David Friesen, and its activities span the entire real estate spectrum, including residential land acquisition and development, single- and multi-family home divisions, property management, as well as building supply and manufacturing divisions.

What this means for StreetSide is simple. “As part of Qualico, we have a rich history of experience and can state with assurance that we’re here to stay,” says Isler. “The importance of this to our homeowners cannot be overstated, as we stand behind everything we build above and beyond the warranty stage. It’s also important considering our goal for growth includes attracting repeat buyers.”

But StreetSide isn’t merely an extension of Qualico’s Vancouver office: it’s very much its own entity, with an enviable mix of seasoned professionals and energetic young talent, all fuelled by creativity and inspired by modern living. “The best way to describe us is that StreetSide is an evolution of everything we’ve learned, with a specific focus on building multi-family homes that fit today’s contemporary lifestyles,” says Isler.

In the wake of the Georgies, StreetSide is busy preparing to launch two new communities this year: Canopy is a collection of townhomes where backyards will be linked to park trails and other natural elements at Tynehead Park, while Forte will consist of large condominiums in the Burnaby Heights neighbourhood. Meanwhile, South Point Walk phase two is nearing completion and will soon welcome its homeowners, who made this a sell-out project in 2017.

Isler concludes: “There’s an enormous amount of activity going on in the multi-family residential sector, and with the continued backing of Qualico, we look forward to providing the market with many exciting new projects that suit a diverse range of buyer needs.”
