Bath tomes

There’s nothing like a hot soak and a good book for your time-strapped mom

-

All Mom really wants for Mother’s Day is some time to herself, preferably in a relaxing bath with a good book.

Is that too much to ask?

Not at all — especially if she has one of those waterproof e-readers.

The folks at Kobo have recently introduced yet another upgraded reading gizmo, the Kobo Aura H20 (kobo.com), which can — you guessed it — withstand up to 60 minutes in up to two metres of water. So long, soggy pages.

The 8GB device holds up to 6,000 books. That’s a lot to choose from — and Mom doesn’t have time for that.

So here’s a look at Kobo’s Mother’s Day reading suggestions.

Fiction: Motherhood (Sheila Heti) Biography: The Seasons of my Mother (Marcia Gay Harden) Mystery: After Anna (Lisa Scottoline) Romance: Bellewether (Susanna Kearsley)

Culinary: Lidia: A Life of Love, Family, and Food (Lidia Matticchio Bastianich)

Home and garden: The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning (Margareta Magnusson) Humour: When You Find Out the World is Against You (Kelly Oxford)

Relationships: How To Be Single and Happy (Jennifer Taitz) Fantasy: Wonderblood (Julia Whicker) And to up the simplicity factor further, here are Kobo’s six most popular audio books:

1. 13 Things Mentally Strong Parents Don’t Do (Amy Morin) 2. You Do You (Sarah Knight) 3. Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows (Balli Kaur Jaswal) 4. The Finishing School (Joanna Goodman)

5. The Marrow Thieves (Cherie Dimaline)

6. The Best Kind of People (Zoe Whittall)
