TRY SOME GOLF ATOP THE ROCKS

Fairmont Chateau Whistler package offers once-in-a-lifetime glacier experience

-

“This hole plays long, your ball will roll forever, just watch out for the ice traps.”

Words probably never spoken by a golfer, unless they’ve experienced a once-in-a-lifetime excursion Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club has created as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.

Dubbed the Heli-va- Game package, this bucket-list trips takes guests to explore the most exclusive Whistler glaciers via helicopter — all with golf club in hand.

The package begins with check-in at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, then a hop aboard a private helicopter for a trip into the backcountry.

Once the chopper lands you tee it up for a little glacier golf, then explore ice caves below before feasting on a mountaintop gourmet picnic prepared by Fairmont executive chef Isabel Chung.

The golf balls and tees are made of bio-degradable material and pose no threat to the pristine environment. Once back at the hotel, the package features a three-night stay on Fairmont Gold and unlimited golf at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Course. The Heli-va- Game package price starts from $12,500 per foursome.

For golfers who like to keep their feet on the fairways and the ice in their 19th-hole cocktail, there’s a Fairmont Chateau Whistler 25th Anniversary Golf Package of two nights accommodation and two rounds of golf per person per night, plus complimentary golf cart and golf club rental. That starts at $242 per person per night.

The “Heli-va-Game” offer and the 25th Anniversary Golf Package are available until Oct. 8.
