Make the most of summer at Sea to Sky Gondola

Special events and programs fill up every day of the week with something new!

- STEVEN HILL

Summer is finally here, and there is no better place in the Lower Mainland to experience all the outdoor recreation and fun in the sun that the season offers, than the Sea to Sky Gondola.

Just a short drive north from Vancouver just 2km south of Squamish and you’ll find special events and programs every day of the week, and for everything you want to do at 885 scenic metres above sea level. Like to hike? The Sea to Summit Hiking Series offers two weekly Sea to Summit hiking experiences on Thursday afternoons and early Saturday morning. Both feature a timer, so you can track your progress throughout the season. If the hike to the summit seems like too much of a challenge, you can always opt to plan your visit around one of the Gondola’s free daily interpretive tours along the breathtaking Spirit Trail, or on the Family Adventure to Bodhi’s Boulder. Or, maybe the serenity and stretching of Mountaintop Yoga is more your style. Start your morning amidst the magnificent mountain scenery high above Howe Sound, as different local yoga teachers offer a range of styles every weekday at 9:45 a.m. Of course, nothing beats the serenity of a spectacular Squamish sunset seen from the alpine or the Gondola’s breathtaking patio. You can experience that beauty for 50 per cent off the regular price on Sunset Saturdays after 5 p.m. Guests can now also visit and stay later at the Gondola not only on Saturdays, but also Thursdays and Fridays during the summer, when they can enjoy the weekly Backyard Seafood Boil (Thursdays), featuring mussels, shrimp and crab claw, and the Mountain Music Series (Fridays) with an eclectic lineup of rotating live music offering everything from classic rock, indie soul, and modern-acoustic, to jazz, folk rock and world fusion.
