Stay local or island hop
There are lots of reasons to stay close to home and just as many to hop on a ferry this weekend.
Tonight there’s drag racing in Mission, including VWs, and make sure to buy your kid some mini doughnuts from my buddy Barry.
On the weekend there are a number of great car shows across Metro Vancouver.
And over on the Island there’s the always-amazing Sleepy Hollow run, there’s a car show in Sydney, the very popular Port Alberni Car Show and racing on the street while the airport is being repaired. And don’t forget about racing at Saratoga and Western speedways.
I’m writing this from our hotel near the beach outside of Rome. We just turned in our rental Fiat Panda after driving 2,200 kilometres all over the mid-northern part of Italy. I am desperate to see some cool tin on the streets.
I consider it that old absence-makes-the-heart-grow-fonder thing. Time to grab one of my boys and head to the drag races tonight!
