The product: Vans Design Assembly Collection

Why we love it: Inspired by the ongoing throwback trend featuring all things ’90s, the Design Assembly collection features an assortment of women’s clothing, accessories and shoes — each created with “detailed design” and “street sensibility” in mind.

The launch, which includes 13 pieces, is the second Design Assembly collection for the company. This time around, the Vans design team has taken cool, oversized silhouettes of sweatshirts, tops and even trousers (true fashionistas will likely be spotted wearing the Summit jacket and pant set) and given them the Vans twists.

The designs feature a remix of the iconic V logo with the Van Doren Rubber Company original design, and the classic black-and-white checkerboard print also makes an appearance. Prepare to see the cropped, Chromo Sweatpant, which basically offers the ultimate athleisure take on culottes, on more than a few of your favourite fashion bloggers. In our opinion, the pants are stylish — without trying too hard.

While it would be easy to fall for a number of (or all of ) this range’s designs, we’re partial to these chic classic Slip- On sneakers in a sunny yellow corduroy. The hue, which is dubbed Sunflower, is sure to make a statement with any ensemble. We love the idea of pairing them with a classic white T-shirt and timeless blue jeans.

The price: $35 to $110
