American pop star Aaron Carter has claimed, in a series of tweets and Instagram posts, to have officially moved from Los Angeles to settle in Yarmouth, N.S.

On Monday, Carter, the younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, posted a picture of himself and real estate agent Mike Randall posing in front of a sprawling property, with the caption:

“I just Purchased my first ESTATE ITS A F--KING CASTLE. it's 9,000 square feet and 8 bedrooms a REC ROOM, THOT TUB, a STUDY a fire place in every room. it comes with free maple syrup 4Life maple on tap.”

Online listings show that the property, located at 24 Sprucewood Drive, is up for sale at $629,900. Contrary to Carter's description, the house is 6,967 sq. ft. and has four bedrooms.

Despite appearing alongside Carter in the Instagram post, Randall declined to confirm whether the house has been purchased, due to client confidentiality. “We are not allowed to give any information at this time,” he told the National Post.

Carter, who performed at a Halifax club on Friday night, first tweeted his alleged intentions to permanently move to Nova Scotia the next day. However, since then he has posted a string of bizarre claims that have left fans skeptical of his plans.

On Sunday, he tweeted that he was temporarily staying “high on a mountain in Halifax” in a Motel 6. However, a quick search on Google showed that there is no Motel 6 in Halifax.

Instead, a picture posted by Carter on his Instagram the same day shows him outside a Comfort Inn in Halifax.

He also claimed to have to bought the private Kaulbach Island, 70 kilometres from Halifax, for $7 million.

“I put $1.5 million down to get away from the drama and make my own music,” he tweeted. “Good luck finding me. These waters get cold.” However, the picture that accompanied the post was of another property, 132 Gannet Lane.

“This Aaron Carter did not put any money down or offer on either of these properties,” wrote realtor Mariana Crown in an email to the National Post.

A rep for realtor Mariana Cowan laughed when iHeartRadio.ca asked her if Carter bought the property. “It's still for sale,” she said.

Early Monday, Carter posted a scenic picture captioning it, “views way up North.” The photo, however, was allegedly stolen from another Twitter user who had posted the same photo minutes before, tagging Carter in the photo with a welcome message.

Later that same day, he told fans he was leaving Canada to visit friends in Cairo, before he, “moves into (his) new home in South America.”

Carter posted that he moved away from L.A. in order to get a “change in scenery” and some desperately-needed privacy, all the while, sharing intimate deals of his personal life with fans on social media. The rapper has openly shared his battle with mental health issues in the past and his devastation at losing his father Robert Gene Carter, who died of a heart attack, and his sister Leslie Carter, who died of a drug overdose.

In a clip from the star's upcoming episode of WE TV's Marriage Boot Camp: Family Edition, Aaron talked about his difficulties growing up in the spotlight and brought up the comparison between himself and Justin Bieber — causing his mother to shoot down his argument.

“I was doing tour after tour after tour after tour,” the singer is heard lamenting, before Jane interjects: “I don't think it was that much — you weren't a Justin Bieber.”

“Thank you,” Aaron fires back. “That means a lot. I'm no Justin Bieber. I'm a piece of s--t. I'm a piece of s--t. I paved the way for that kid.”

The pop star is currently in a bitter dispute with his brother Nick, with the Backstreet Boys musician filing for a protection order against his sibling, claiming Aaron harboured thoughts of killing his wife and then unborn daughter. Aaron's twin sister Angel Conrad later requested a similar restraining order.

The troubled singer denied the allegations, insisting his family is trying to “control” him.
