STEPHEN, Iris (nee Dolden)

-

September 3, 1929 - May 2, 2020 Iris Stephen (nee Dolden) passed away after a short illness. She was predeceased by Gordon, her high school sweetheart and husband of almost 65 years. She is survived by her daughters Sandy (Rob) and Maureen (Mike) and many nieces and nephews. Iris was born in her family home in Richmond and was a life-long resident of the Lower Mainland, living in Tsawwassen for over 45 years. An avid walker, she spent many hours on the Boundary Bay Dyke both by herself and with her beloved dogs, enjoying the ducks, the ocean and the mountains. While her eyesight failed her in later years, she was always an eager student of current events and spent much of her time listening to news on the radio and the television. She enjoyed traveling and spent many happy holidays on cruise ships seeing numerous parts of the World. Iris worked in the Delta School system for many years prior to her retirement in 1988. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage and after countless years as a volunteer, was honored with a lifetime membership in the BC Highland Dancing Association. Iris was a devoted gardener and filled her home and her yard with all types of plants and flowers. While neither of her daughters inherited her green thumb, they would ask you to think of her the next time you plant a flower. The family would like to thank Melville Hospice Home in White Rock for their support during this difficult time. Condolences may be offered at www.deltafuneral.ca Delta Funeral Home (604) 946-6040
