It is with great sadness that the family of Andy Mular announces his sudden passing on June 4, 2020 at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruby, his children Mike (Deborah), Cyndi, Theresa (Dale) Lerose and Jim, his brother Harry, his sister-in-law Gerta and his brother-in-law Jim Fischer. He will also be missed by his 6 grandchild­ren, Sierra, Kaila, Cam, Dakota, Justin and Matthew, and his many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his brothers Jim and Bill, his sisters Helen Fischer and Zana Ankeny, his sisters-in-law Flo and Mary Ann and his brother-in-law Skip Ankeny. Andy was raised in Butte, MT, graduating from the Montana School of Mines where he received both his B.SC. (with Honors) and M.SC. Metallurgi­cal Engineerin­g. He taught at Queen’s University and UBC and was granted Professor Emeritus in 1996. Andy was a prominent influence in the mineral processing industry throughout his career and continued to contribute after retirement. He was the recipient of many academic and industry awards and authored or co-authored more than 90 technical publicatio­ns. As a couple, Andy and Ruby enjoyed their VSO friends and had many memorable travel experience­s, in particular their trips with Ruby’s sister Audrey and her husband Bob. Andy was a proud grandpa, taking great pleasure in being with his grandchild­ren. A Celebratio­n of Life will be announced at a later date.
