Nov. 26, 1939 - Jun. 12, 2020

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected death of our father. Bill was born in Cornwall ON and passed away peacefully in his sleep. He is predeceased by parents William and Margaret (Macdougall), brother Ron (Mary), and sisters Irma Savard (Ron) and Lois Macgillis (Bernie). He is survived by his sister Eileen Kinnear (Doug), brother Bryan, and his three daughters; Deborah (Dan), Penny Sigouin (Gord) and Wendy Benard (Raymond). Also left to mourn are his five grand-children; Darren, Kyle, Jaclyn, Danielle and Dalton, as well as 5 great-grand kids.

Bill excelled at all athletic endeavours in his youth, particularly basketball and football. He married and began a family before moving the young crew to BC where he established a new insurance office. Bill retired from a career in auto insurance as a senior manager at ICBC. Upon 'retirement' he launched a second career as a mediator, his true calling. A dozen years later he agreed to re-retire.

Bill was a lifelong sportsman; loved curling, downhill skiing, and was passionate about golf, both loving and hating it (he gave his clubs away at least 3 times). Health issues later in life left him unable to participate so he became a world class spectator and armchair commentator. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and "Big Pa" who will be dearly missed by all. But, as he was fond of saying, "Keep Smiling". No service by request, but a celebration of life will be held in the near future.
