The Crown gets new Prince Philip

Oscar-nominated actor Jonathan Pryce is reportedly stepping into the role of Britain’s Prince Philip for the final two seasons of The Crown. According to reports, The Two Popes star, 73, will take on the role of Queen Elizabeth II’s husband in seasons 5 and 6 of the hit Netflix royal drama, alongside Imelda Staunton as the monarch herself. The role of Prince Philip has previously been played by Matt Smith and Tobias Menzies. The upcoming seasons will be set in the 1990s and early 2000s — focusing on the divorces of Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Charles.
