Hotte new winemaker at Harper's Trail in Kamloops

- ANTHONY GISMONDI

Kamloops-based Harper's Trail Winery has a new winemaker/ viticulturist in Sebastien Hotte.

Hotte joins the team that includes consultant Pascal Madevon for the 2021 season.

He is a graduate of Washington State University and a certified sommelier from the Ecole Hoteliere des Laurentides.

After a rich hospitality career working the floor at many top restaurants in Canada, including the Wickaninnish Inn, he was bitten by the winemaking bug.

With stops at Anthony Buchanan Wines, Checkmate Winery, Ursa Major Wines, and Ricco Bambino, he will take over the 100 acres of property at Harper's Trail to assist in its journey to organic grape growing and farming and ultimately making wine with those grapes.

If you visit Harper's Trail, keep a sharp lookout for Sebastien driving a forklift or working in the vines with his winery dogs Willow and Oso.

To help you make the most of the upcoming holiday season, Hawksworth Restaurant is offering Hawksworth at Home dinner packages through to the new year (excluding Dec. 21-26), and its popular Turkey To- Go returns Dec. 21-26 featuring all the fixings: turkey roulade, traditional stuffing, pomme purée, brussels sprouts with a spicy maple glaze, roasted squash, buttermilk and chive biscuits, gravy, cranberry sauce, with a kale salad and dark chocolate fondant for dessert.

Fall Roast and Holiday To- Go orders require 72 hours' notice and are available to order at hawksworthrestaurant.com.
