with the Ottawa Jr. Senators.

“We’ve had a lot of successes there and I’m looking to bring that here,” Sauvé said during a phone interview.

Several of the Rangers veterans like Mike McArthur and Drew Shield will be making their way to Rockland as potential foundation stones for the new Nats Jr. A team. Sauvé plans to hold a three-day prospects camp in mid-June at the Clarence-Rockland Arena, followed later in August by the pre-season training camp.

Sauvé expects to see a good mix of veteran players looking to trade in their Rangers jerseys for the Nats logo along with a big crop of rookies and first-timers from the minor leagues to harvest for his opening lineup.

“I think the big question and challenge for us will be to fill the spots we have available,” Sauvé said. “It’s going to be exciting for us to get all these players together.”
