- ALEXIA MARSILLO alexia.marsillo@eap.on.ca

The Canadian International Hockey Academy held its first annual mixed adult ball hockey tournament this past weekendé Seven local teams played several matches throughout the day.

The recreational tournament was all for fun and games, although the winners did receive a prize that includes an hour of free ice time and a reduction on next year’s registration fee for the tournament. Team Nerée Lavictoire Roofing and Team Lavictoire fought each other in the final game after a long day. Although they lost in the finals, Team Nerée Lavictoire Roofing fought long and hard to get there, battling their way to the top by playing six games back to back.

Games were played four on four, plus a goalie, and had to include at least two female players on the ice at all times. The tournament ran all day at the CIHA arena in Rockland. The Academy is already looking forward to continuing this tradition next year for their second annual tournament.
