Shenkman’s Art Centre organizes concert series for seniors

The Shenkman’s Art Centre in Orléans has organized a series of concerts, the Matinée Café Series, and has promoted the series specifical­ly to senior residences, centers and groups in Orléans and in and around the entire eastern Ontario region.

There are currently three concerts included in the series from now until November. The first concert was Wednesday, September 20 at 2 p.m., titled FolkloFoli­e, and which is of Franco-Canadian folklore genre .

The following concerts will be held on Oc- tober 18 and November 22. Colores Andinos, the October concert, is of Latin-American theme with a performanc­e from Colores Andinos, while the final concert in November, The Voice of the Violin, features a showcase from violinist Mary-Elizabeth Brown.

The series aims to provide seniors with accessible and inexpensiv­e entertainm­ent in the area and aims to the arts, community and socializat­ion.

All concerts in the series take place at the Shenkman Art Centre in Orléans at 2 p.m., followed by coffee and dessert in the lobby. The tickets can be purchased in advance either online or by the phone. Le Centre des Arts Shenkman à Orléans tiendra une série de concerts, intitulée la Série Matinée Café, pour les résidents. Ces concerts visent particuliè­rement les résidences à Orléans et dans toute la région de l’est de l’Ontario. Les deux concerts restants auront lieu le 18 octobre et le 22 novembre.
