Winning weekend for the Castors

The Clarence Castors had a winning weekend, defeating both the Morrisburg Lions and the Vankleek Hill Cougars.

The Castors beat Morrisburg in the Lions’ own arena on Saturday, January 27. In what was a 5-3 victory, the Clarence Castors played a strong game. Michel Jr. Beauchamp, Jeff Brett, Zack Lugli, Patrick Sonoski and Matthew Wilson each picked up a goal for the Castors.

Jacob Kendrick, Zacharie Leblanc and Thomas Ouderkirk each scored for the Lions, but couldn’t tie the game.

The Castors then hosted the Vankleek Hill Cougars at the Clarence Creek Recreation Centre on Sunday, January 28. The Castors dominated the game, beating the Cougars 6-2. Matthew Wilson, Logan Lefebvre, Connor Lacey and Matthew Clément each scored a goal for Clarence. Forward Patrick Lemay scored two for his team.

Clément and Wilson each picked up three points during the game – each adding two assists to their goals. J

Tyler Dopelhamer and Riley Sauvé scored the two goals for the Cougars. The Clarence Castors play next on Sunday, February 4 at home against the St-Isidore Eagles. Les Castors de Clarence ont eu une fin de semaine victorieus­e, battant à la fois les Lions de Morrisburg et les Cougars de Vankleek Hill. Les Castors joueront le dimanche 4 février à domicile contre les Aigles de Saint-Isidore.
