-

Kia’s all-electric Soul EV won three major “green” car awards all in the space of a single week.

During the week of March 23, it was named the 2015 Canadian Green Car Award in Toronto; Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) Green Car of the Year Award and Vancouver and the 2015 Vincentric “Best Value in America” award winner in the Electric/Plug-in Hybrid category in the U.S.

At the Toronto Green Living Show, panel of top Canadian automotive journalists selected the Soul EV from among six category winners as the vehicle that best combines environmental benefits and massmarket appeal.

“Kia Canada is truly honoured to receive the Canadian Green Car Award for the 2015 Soul EV,” said Maria Soklis.

“With the Soul EV’s class-leading range, no-compromise utility and award-winning design it offers an exceptional zero-emission vehicle alternative for Canadians.”

At the Vancouver Auto Show, Kia Canada was presented with the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) Green Car of the Year Award.

The Soul EV finished ahead of competing finalists to win the award which included the Toyota Camry Hybrid, the Honda Fit and the Subaru Legacy.

This is the second Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) award that the Soul EV has won since its launch to the Canadian market late last year.

In December, Kia Canada was presented with the AJAC Car of the Year category award winner for ‘Best New City Car.’ It also signifies two consecutive years where the Soul has won consecutive awards including the ‘Best New Family Car (Under $30,000)’ in 2014.

In Irvine, CA, Vincentric noted the EV’s high value and low cost of ownership versus others in its segment in naming it “Best Value in America” award winner in the Electric/Plug-in Hybrid category in the U.S.

Vincentric is a leading source of cost-of-ownership data and analysis within the automotive industry.

“The Kia brand has always stood for value, and even as we’ve grown and matured, adding ever more refined and diverse models to our lineup, we’ve never strayed from that commitment to our customers,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, Kia Motors America.
